Position is responsible for reviewing and evaluating utility usage for all SEI facilities. Position will analyze and optimize all rates, make rate
changes as necessary, verify accurate pricing, correct billing errors and maintain the utility database.


Works with various groups within the organization such as Construction / BCP / Real Estate / Store Planning / Facility Management / AP, etc to manage utility accounts and related issues. Maintains utility database - this includes but is not limited to setting up and closing utility accounts, assigning accounts to correct sites and resolving billing issues. Analyze the utility rates in the regulated markets and change rates as necessary. Disseminates utility related information within the company. Creates energy performance reports as needed. Analyzes utility cost data and tracks utility budgets. Prepares accrual reports as needed. Develop energy budgets and track energy costs. Collects data from utility bill management database. Benchmarks stores based on energy & water usage and investigates high cost sites or other energy anomalies for possible causes and resolution. Track and manage the Utility Rebate / Incentive Procurement Program. Assists the Sr. Energy Manager and Director to deliver a total energy management strategy that covers energy information, energy procurement and energy utilization. Work with the utility companies to get the account holder names corrected especially for acquired stores. Liaison with the utility companies. Get account managers assigned where possible. Communicate rule-making changes from utilities serving SEI. Manage Corporate Solid/Liquid Waste and Recycling Programs


  • Education: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: minimum 3 years experience in utility rate structures and utility accounting is preferred
  • Minimum of two years of work experience relating to energy consumption
  • Demonstrates strong communication (written and verbal), negotiation and customer satisfaction skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential
  • Strong computer and analytical skills required
  • Ability to take initiative and effectively operate with general direction
  • Must be highly organized
  • Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment
