The Lease Accounting Manager is responsible for accounting oversight and month end close duties associated with complex lease accounting processes. Responsibilities include monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements as well as SOX oversight and key internal controls for lease accounting.  This position will also be required to routinely research and document technical accounting guidance associated with lease accounting. 


  • Position works cross functionally with the Property Accounting, Accounting Integration, Real Estate and Legal teams on a routine basis to review lease agreements, establish lease payment and reporting protocol, and document lease processes.
  • The candidate must have the ability to independently research technical accounting guidance, form opinions, and prepare executive summaries and PowerPoint presentations for management’s review. 
  • This position may potentially lead and supervise staff in month end close, reporting, and general ledger accounting duties including the preparation of monthly account reconciliations. 
  • Positon is responsible for managing key controls associated with lease accounting as well as maintaining associated SOX narratives and workflows. 
  • Position is required to prepare, review and present SOX documentation to Internal Audit, Compliance, and external audit teams as needed. 
  • Position must also respond timely to quarterly and annual audit requests. 
  • This Position will also support system upgrades or a system implementation required for ASC 842 Lease Accounting compliance. 
  • Position will also be called upon for ad hoc requests and support of special projects as needed.    


  • Education: Bachelors/4 Yr. Degree, Masters Preferred.
  • CPA required. 
  • Experience: 5-8 years in public accounting or large company environment with a strong technical accounting background.  
  • Experience with Lease Accounting preferred. 
  • Strong business acumen required to communicate with all levels of management and internal business partners. 
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred with the proven ability to develop, lead, and motivate team members. 
  • Strong analytical skills required to independently identify, research, and resolve complex accounting issues. 
  • Overall, must be able to perform in a fast paced work environment with the ability to manage deadlines, competing priorities, and ad hoc requests.
