Field consultants are crucial to implementing national and local initiatives in the stores. They are a vital link ensuring we have what our guest’s want, when they want it and as much as they want.

 

Being a 7-Eleven Field Consultant isn’t easy. In fact, it’s pretty challenging. We believe great training is the foundation for exceptional performance. Therefore, we provide a comprehensive development program which includes an extensive in-store process covering all aspects of store operations including fresh food and merchandising concepts, operating procedures, and financial information.  You’ll turn principle into practice as you manage your own store and gain valuable, first-hand experience. You’ll also work with an experienced Field Consultant to enhance your consulting and influencing skills.  Once you have a comprehensive understanding of store operations, you will start using those insights in your role as a Field Consultant. 

Responsibilities

  • The Food Service Quality Assurance and Training Consultant reports to the Foodservice Quality Manager (who reports to the Market Manager / Zone Leader), The Food Service Consultant (FSC) is the subject matter expert and provides consultation to the Field Consultant, Store Operator and Deli Manager re: the operation of the foodservice business.

  • Visit stores on a weekly basis to compete a Foodservice Quality Visit. Additional store visits to be made as needed or requested to provide additional coaching / training / consultation. Unannounced visits will also be made to conduct additional compliance checks and/or food audits and evaluations to assess store compliance utilizing standard metrics, including: standard operating procedures as established by 7-Eleven, Inc.safety procedures, compliance with all Federal, State and local foodservice and health regulations, appropriate maintenance and cleaning of equipment, Provide immediate feedback to Store Operator as appropriate, and feedback to the Field Consultant for on-going consultation. Work with Store Operator and Field Consultant to develop corrective actions, and then conduct follow up inspections as needed. If issues of critical health or safety concerns are found, FSC may at his/her discretion require the store to immediately correct the issues, up to and including temporarily ceasing foodservice operations until corrected, if necessary.
  • Assist Field Consultant and store team in maximizing foodservice sales and profits by: providing subject matter expert knowledge of excellent foodservice techniques, ensuring quality food processes are in compliance with the Operations Manual leading to repeat and new business and reducing waste, providing technical and quality training and coaching for new store operators, as well as on-going 1:1 or group training sessions as requested by the Field Consultant / Franchisee focused on new store openings with foodservice, new processes, and new product introductions, modeling excellent guest service and techniques to increase sales / profits, Consult on labor planning and standards to meet operational needs.
  • Visit stores on a weekly basis to accomplish the above in a Foodservice Quality Visit.   Additional store visits to be made as needed or requested to provide additional coaching / training / consultation.   Unannounced visits will also be made to conduct additional compliance checks and/or food audits.
  • Notify Merchandising/Marketing, Logistics, QA and Operations of pertinent information, innovation ideas, and recommendations based on: awareness of the competition’s pricing, strategies and products, knowledge of guest requests and store feedback, quality improvement, distribution/service quality
  • Support QA Manager with recalls/withdrawals, product problems, local regulatory inquiries/issues, and special projects.
  • Provides direct supervision training and coaching to the Food Service Assistant Manager

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred and/or Certification or required State / local required food handler permits
  • 2-4 years Food Service Experienced
  • Proven ability to work with and influence direct reports, franchisees, peers and senior management
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and root cause identification skills
  • Proven prioritization, presentation, budgeting, time management, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills
  • Critical perspective and observation of store and merchandise placement
  • Strong attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Overnight and daily travel is required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

The Field Consultant position requires constant standing, bending and reaching. Frequent lifting of one to five pounds and occasional lifting of up to 40-50 pounds
