  • Overview


    As a Business Analyst, you will be part of a team responsible for delivering technology solutions for our SEI Fuels Wholesale team. This position is responsible for gathering, documenting and analyzing the current/future business process and solution requirements as well as participating in ongoing projects working with developers and users through all phases of a project.





    Analysis and Solution Definition

    • Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of client's organization and industry
    • Works with business partner to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs to define vision and scope
    • Lead discovery and requirements gathering sessions. Recommend alternate approaches.
    • Clearly articulates and documents current and future business processes
    • Clearly articulates and documents business requirements and user stories
    • Engages with subject matter experts to incorporate usability and user interface needs when designing systems
    • Documents, reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
    • Assist with the coordination of project delivery by participating in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate systems designs and validate proposed solutions
    • Captures meeting content and incorporates into appropriate deliverables

    Technical Recommendation and Testing

    • Possesses/develops technical understanding in the area/s of assignment
    • Collaborates with developers to test and verify that solutions will meet the business requirements
    • Help ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner
    • Work with end users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to accurately prioritize defects and re-test resolved issues
    • Communicates needed changes from testing to development team

    Project Execution

    • Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules
    • Provide project support from Initiation through Deployment including certain project deliverables as required
    • Communicates and applies project standards based on 7Eleven SDLC
    • Follow an iterative software development methodology and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle and support
    • Consistently delivers high-quality services to the business
    • Understands the components of running a fiscally successful project
    • Takes input from supervisor and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback

    Business Engagement

    • Establish strong partnership and collaboration with business area/s.
    • Communicates effectively with the business to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management
    • Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships
    • Perform Change Management functions, create training materials, and conduct stakeholder training
    • Train end users on new functionality when necessary and/or appropriate




    • Education: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
    • 7-Eleven knowledge a plus
    • Wholesale Fuel / Fuels background a plus
    • Experience: 2-3 years Fuels or Business
    • Intermediate to Excellent Level: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate in both verbal and written communication
    • Demonstrated problem solving and strong analytical skills
    • Basic understanding of information technology and business concepts
    • Basic understanding of SDLC (Software Delivery Life Cycle or Software Development Life Cycle)
    • Experience soliciting, gathering, and analyzing user input and documenting requirements
    • Experience preparing BRD, as-is and to-be process flows, solution diagrams, use cases, process flows, functional designs, training materials, and guides.
    • Ability to lead requirement elicitation activities, including but not limited to gap analysis discussions, requirements workshops, interviews, document analysis and interface analysis with business users and stakeholders, including technical teams, end users and operations SMEs.
    • SDLC Methodology:
      • Experience in / strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile (Scrum) project methodologies.
      • Ability to facilitate Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Scrum Meetings, and Sprint Retrospectives
      • Ability to create or assist in the creation of User Stories, Backlog Grooming and User Story prioritization.
    • Salesforce Experience a plus:
      • Basic Usage of Salesforce Sales Cloud.
      • Experience on a Salesforce implementation through the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
      • Understand capabilities that exist in the Salesforce AppExchnage.
      • Experience implementing Salesforce Sales Cloud and CLM functionality and can act as a knowledgeable liaison between technical teams, testing teams and business stakeholders during the implementation phase.
      • Experience working with customers to elicit and analyze their requirements, develop designs, and to be used to implement Salesforce Sales Cloud.
