  • Overview

    The scrum master serves the team to help turn user stories and epics into working software. Responsibilities of the Scrum Master as servant-leader are as follows:

    Responsibilities

     

    • Guide the team on how to use Agile Scrum practices and values and ensure they maximize the benefits of self-organization.
    • Execute Scrum ceremonies and ensure utilization of Agile tools.
    • Facilitate work of geographically distributed teams.
    • Remove team impediments or guide the team on how to remove impediments.
    • Ensure that the team gets the development / technical support necessary for the success .
    • Coordinate and work with various internal stakeholders.
    • Facilitate getting the work done without dictating.
    • Facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution.
    • Act as the business analyst and point-of-contact to ensure a smooth transition from idea submission through scoping, design, delivery and project closeout.
    • Translate business requirements to user stories.
    • Understand the priorities and interdependencies of past, current and future work to ensure optimal outcomes.
    • Generate quantitative reports using the Scrum management tools to help make informed decisions and improve transparency.
    • Manage risks effectively on both development and upgrade projects.
    • Create executive reporting and status updates.
    • Support and educate the Product Owner.
    • Understand and support SDLC activities.

     

    Qualifications

     

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • Certified Scrum Master Certification

    Required Experience:

    • 5+ years working through the design, development, release cycle, and delivery of software products to market.
    • 5+ years of experience with scrum methodology and agile as a Scrum Master
    • Project management experience
